The late William Denning originally trained as a Methodist minister. After working in circuit ministry for over twenty years, he moved to Maypole Farm in Gloucestershire, where he set up his own small chapel and meeting place. He expressed his creativity in painting, drawings and words. Above all his poetry was at the heart of his spiritual journey.

In this book of poens and drawings, the deeply spiritual nature of his mission in life as a man who made himself available to all who came to him and often shared their pain and sorrow, is communicated with a profound power and sensitivity:

There is a love
for those whose lives I touch
and want for them
the peace that I have found
I want for them
a sort of inner wholeness
which all humanity must long for
seek
and one day surely must
will find
