ABOUT POMEGRANATE BOOKS

Pomegranate Books was set up by John Adler in 1999. Formerly he worked at the University of Bristol as a lecturer and arts administrator. He has had over 20 years of experience as a journalist and photographer with work published in national and regional newspapers and magazines. He is an author, whose book Responses To Shakespeare (8 vols) is published by Routledge and has been reprinted three times. It is to be found in university and other major libraries all over the world. He was also editor for many years of the legendary New Theatre Magazine which was circulated internationally.
In Pomegranate he is able to apply a range of skills and experience appropriate to publishing, ranging from graphics and DTP to editorial and marketing.

THE WORK WE DO

Pomegranate publishes a range of interesting and unusual books under its own imprint. The company is also able to assist corporations, public bodies or individuals wishing to publish a book communicating some aspect of their work or special interest in conjunction with its sister company John Adler Associates, who specialise in marketing, design and publishers' services. Consequently, we are able to provide a comprehensive one-stop service, producing commissioned publications – in very short runs if necessary – to a high standard and at a competitive price, and if necessary, even to generate the text and market them.
One recent commission, for example was to produce a single copy of book on long-distance running to a standard that was indistinguishable from a mass-produced book offered for sale a major bookshop; another was to produce 60 copies of a full-colour photography book illustrating an urban renewal project; yet another was to provide 1000 copies of a poetry book on the theme of homelessness that will be sold to generate funds for a major charity.
